TED Prize 2011- JR & INSIDE OUT

“The 2011 TED Prize winner, JR, wishes: “for you to stand up for what you care about by participating in a global art project, and together we’ll turn the world…INSIDE OUT.”

His Inside Out project uses the power of large-scale images to connect us with others. You would even describe it as introducing different or warring communities to each other. First developed during the banlieue crisis in 2006 in France, then in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, JR has gone on to plaster his oversized portraits in Africa and South America and created the framework for a global art effort. Amazing.”
